Odoribacter splanchnicus relative abundance was significantly lower in individuals with prior exposure to clindamycin, fluoroquinolones, or flucloxacillin, with depletion effects persisting for 4–8 years post-prescription, in a multi-cohort observational study of 14,979 Swedish adults (SCAPIS, SIMPLER, MOS cohorts).

Lower Odoribacter splanchnicus relative abundance was inversely associated with elevated BMI, waist-hip ratio, serum triglycerides, and C-reactive protein in the SCAPIS cohort (n≈10,456), with the species showing an inverse relationship to cardiometabolic risk markers.
